Qatar invests in Congo

Qatar and Total have signed a frame- work agreement for the gas-rich state to gain a share of Total’s Moho North pro- ject in the Republic of Congo (Brazza- ville), further enhancing an alliance for joint co-operation in Africa. State-owned Qatar Petroleum’s (QP) overseas invest- ment arm QPI will be able to participate in Total E&P Congo through its sub- scription to a 15pc share capital increase in the company. Previously Total E&P Congo operated the Moho Bilondo licence with a 53.5pc interest, alongside Congo’s state-owned Societe Nationale des Petroles du Congo (15pc) and Chev- ron’s local subsidiary (31.5pc).
