摘要

A year of political instability in Yemen has pushed the country’s crude oil output to a record low of around 100,000 b/d on the eve of landmark presidential elections. Production from fields in four blocks has been shut down since October because of a series of attacks by restive tribes targeting an export pipeline that connects the fields to the Ras Isa export terminal (WPA, 3 October, p8). The government has been unsuccessful in its attempts to negotiate a deal with the tribes that would allow it to carry out repairs.
