The result of Russia’s presidential election on 4 March is, of course, a foregone conclusion. And it is hard to imagine that Vladimir Putin’s return to the presidency will result in any real change in the country that produces more oil and gas combined than any other. Putin remained the dominant figure in the country’s political landscape during his four years as prime minister.
