India’s RIL, BP surrender blocks

BP and Indian private-sector Reliance Industries (RIL) have surrendered two blocks on India’s east coast to the government. The RIL-BP joint venture now holds just four blocks, compared with 21 in 2011 when BP bought a 30pc stake in its venture with RIL for $7.2bn.
