Qatari crude output continues to fall

Qatari crude production has fallen to its lowest since the third quarter of 2002, according to Argus estimates and data from state-run Qatar National Bank(QNB). Argus puts February Qatari supply at 680,000 b/d,a level not seen since third-quarter 2002 output of 660,000 b/d.The drop highlights state-owned QP’s difficul-ties in stabilising output. The country produced 860,000 b/d of crude in 2008,according to Argus data.At the time,QNB envisaged that Qatar could push beyond 1mn b/d.But QP and its part-ners have since struggled to stem declines.
