Saudi economy slows but ‘robust’

Saudi Arabia’s GDP growth is slowing in the face of lower oil prices but its low debt burden means that it has plenty of scope to weather the storm through debt issuances such as this month’s $5.33bn bond, Saudi privatesector bank Samba says. The bank expects real GDP growth to slow from a forecast 4.1pc this year to 1.7pc in 2016, and increase to 3.4pc in 2017.
