Mexico has eased contract conditions in the first two packages of blocks on offer in its first licensing round.The exploration period for the first package of 14 shallow-water exploration blocks is extended to four years with a possi-ble two-year extension,from three years with two possible one-year exten-sions.Other changes to the first and second packages—nine shallow-water development blocks,grouped into five contracts—include allowing individ-ual bidders to join a consortium,previ-ously not permitted,if they renounce individual status.
