Russia’s Lukoil plans peak capex

Russian private-sector firm Lukoil’s organic capital expenditure(capex)wi reach$20bn this year,making it the firm’s most capital-intensive year. Spending priorities will cover a domes tic refining upgrade,which Lukoil wil complete this year,well ahead of its peers,as well as the commissioning of the West Qurna 2 field in Iraq in March-April and the start of develop-ment at the Filanovsky field in the Cas pian and at Uzbekistan’s Kandym gas field.Lukoil’s 2013 investments were roughly the same but included acquisi-tions
