Australia’s Woodside eyes counter-cyclical growth

Australian independent Woodside is looking for further growth opportunities following its acquisition of US independent Apache’s Kitimat and Wheatstone LNG assets for $2.75bn. The deals give Woodside 13pc of the 8.9mn t/yr Wheatstone project, under construction in Western Australia (WA), and 50pc of the planned 10mn t/yr Kitimat plant in British Columbia, Canada. Both projects are operated by Chevron.
