Crude falls as demand ebbs

Crude prices sagged under the weight of growing supplies and faltering demand. Atlantic basin benchmark North Sea Dated shed $2.64/bl to $106.96/bl in the week to 24 October — the first time it has settled below $107/bl since July. But these losses were overshadowed by a $4/bl fall in US benchmark WTI to a near four-month low of $96.67/bl. North Sea Dated’s premium to WTI rose to more than $10/bl, its largest in six months.
