Mexico hedging pays off

Mexico's finance ministry has received a windfall of $2.65bn from its oil hedging strategy. The government last year negotiated a hedging programme that guaranteed the country a price of $49/bl for its crude export basket in 2016. The scheme cost it $1.09bn.
