Total is under fire from Russia’s energy ministry over its failure to meet crude production targets and utilise associated natural gas at the 419mn bl Kharyaga field. The project, in northern Russia’s Timan-Pechora region, is being devel- oped under a production-sharing agree- ment. The ministry is considering trans- ferring operatorship to one of the Rus- sian firms participating in development. Total holds 40pc, Norwegian state-con- trolled Statoil has 30pc, Russian state- owned Zarubezhneft holds 20pc and Nenets Oil has 10pc.
