Libyan oil output is falling again as unrest flares in the west of the country and foreign operators grow con-cerned over the long-term effect on oil fields. Resurgent unrest in western Libya cut oil output to around 460,000 b/d on 13 February, according to state-owned NOC.This is around 25pc lower than the 610,000 b/d reported for 11 February by NOC,and less than 30pc of capacity.Armed groups shut off a valve on the pipeline from the 340,000 b/d El Sharara field to the Az Zawiyah export terminal, cutting field output to around 200,000 b/d. The oil and gas pipelines from the Wafa field to the Mell-itah port have also been shut off by armed groups, forcing the field to shut in.Wafa normally produces 40,000 b/d of crude. Gas output is around 1.4mn m3/d,with flows to Italy through the Green Stream pipeline of 7.8mn m3/d,NOC says.
