Libya resumes eastern crude exports

Crude exports from eastern Libya resumed this month after a nine-month stoppage,following a deal between Trip-oli and federalist militias on 6 April to end blockades at the region’s four export terminals.Libyan output is edging up as exports restart,running at 220,000 b/d, compared with capacity of 1.6mn b/d. The first cargo of Sarir crude exported since July loaded at the 140,000 b/d Marsa el-Hariga terminal on 16 April.The 6 April deal also allowed the reopening of the 150,000 b/d Zueitina terminal,but state-owned NOC is yet to lift force majeure there(WPA,11 April, p3).The delay is a result of disagree-ments between Tripoli and federalists over the make-up of the committee that will investigate charges of corruption in handling oil revenues.The federalists will only end blockades at the 200,000 b/d Ras Lanuf and 350,000 b/d Es Sider terminals when Zueitina reopens.
