BP to sell US wind farms

BP plans to sell its US wind power business as part of efforts to focus more on its oil and gas operations. The sale will “reposition the company for sustainable growth into the future”, it says. BP owns interests in 16 US wind farms with a total generation capacity of 2,600MW. BP’s share of the projects is 1,558MW. The bulk of the capacity is in Indiana, Texas, Colorado and Kansas, with smaller projects in Idaho, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Hawaii and California.
