Uganda to export through Lamu

Crude exports from Uganda’s Lake Albert basin are likely to be exported through a pipeline to the Kenyan port of Lamu. A consortium of London-listed Tullow Oil, Chinese state-owned CNOOC and Total is developing the basin, but final approval by the Ugan-dan government has been delayed by negotiations over a refinery, the pipe-line export route and a series of tax dis-putes (WPA, 26 April, p7).
