BP unlikely to settle Macondo trial

BP says it is “digging in” for a lengthy legal battle in the US over its Macondo liabilities and is “highly unlikely” to settle in the federal civil trial to apportion blame for the spill. But there is no guarantee that the strategy will stem the firm’s escalating Macondo costs.
