Tanzania looks at LNG exports

Norwegian state-controlled Statoil’s Zafarani 1 well in offshore block 2 off- shore Tanzania has encountered up to 5 trillion ft3 (141.5bn m3) of natural gas. The well is being drilled further down to assess the potential for more gas. Block 2 partners are Statoil with 65pc and ExxonMobil 35pc, and the companies will next drill an exploration well at the Lavani prospect.
