Australian LNG firms under pressure

Australian upstream firm and utility Origin Energy is considering selling its upstream businesses, with its 37.5pc stake in the 9mn t/yr Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) joint venture not excluded from a possible sale. A demerger of the company is also a possibility, which would split its LNG and upstream interests from its power generation assets.
