Total and Socar agree on Apsheron development

Total and state-owned Socar are moving ahead with the development of Azerbaijan's offshore Apsheron natural gas and condensate field. But initial plans are focused on domestic supply, rather than exports. Apsheron was previously earmarked as a potential source of gas for the southern corridor route to Europe. But lower European gas prices and Socar's declining output may have prompted a rethink.
