摘要

Peruvian president-elect Pedro Pablo Kuczynski has pledged to inject momentum into the country’s flagship $4bn southern gas pipeline (GSP) project. “The pipeline is not financed, but we will help to finance it,” Kuczynski says. He will formally take office on 28 July, following his victory over election rival Keiko Fujimori this month. Kuczynski is committed to the completion of the initial 500mn ft3/d (5bn m3/yr) capacity of the GSP pipeline project on schedule by mid-2018, he says. The 1,000km pipeline will run the from the Camisea gas fields in Peru’s jungle region to two port cities, Ilo and Mollendo, in the south of the country, where two gas-fired power plants are under construction. The project was awarded in June 2014 to a joint venture of Brazilian construction firm Odebrecht with a 55pc stake and Spanish utility Enagas with 25pc. Peruvian construction company Grana y Montero acquired a 20pc share in the project in September.
