Mexico is preparing a second wave of upstream tenders as its historic first round heads towards the eagerly awaited sale of deepwater acreage. The second upstream round will start at the end of July, with the offer of 15 exploration and development blocks in the shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico, energy secretary Pedro Joaquin Coldwell says. A subsequent auction by the end of the summer will include 14 onshore exploration and development blocks in the Burgos and southeastern basins, he says.
