Total is increasing its investment in Argentina’s upstream with a new offshore development and plans for shale gas pilot projects. The firm has sanctioned the development of the 70,000 b/d of oil equivalent (boe/d) Vega Pleyade gas and condensate field in the Austral basin. The field is scheduled to start up in late 2015.
