The pressure is mounting on Brazil’s interim president, Michel Temer, less than two weeks into his tenure. Newly appointed planning minister Romero Juca of Temer’s PMDB party resigned on 23 May, following the leak of recordings that allegedly reveal his plans to thwart investigations into a corruption scandal centred on state-controlled oil firm Petrobras.
