The Australian LNG sector’s next wave of investment is shaping up to be develop- ment of natural gas felds to provide supplies for the country’s oldest projects, which are on track to reach peak output in the next 5-7 years. The move may spur development of felds that were once planned to supply foating LNG (FLNG) production projects. The industry has stepped back from FLNG ventures, as the expansion of US and Australian LNG production capacity and lower oil and LNG prices have put pressure on such developments.
