The Nigerian government has signed a preliminary agreement with US-based firm Vulcan Petroleum Resources for the possible construction of six modular refining plants in the country, with a potential total capacity of 180,000 b/d. The modular units, for 30,000 b/d each, would help Nigeria meet its growing import demand for gasoline and diesel.
