US LNG project draws new partners

US-based Sempra Energy has finalised third-party processing and joint-venture agreements with customers of its pro- posed 13.5mn t/yr Cameron LNG expor project, giving them just under half of the project. Japanese trading houses Mit subishi and Mitsui, along with France’s state-controlled utility group GDF Suez, each signed 20-year deals for 4mn t/yr of third-party processing capacity at the Louisiana plant. Each of the buyers will also take a 16.6pc share in existing facil- ities and the liquefaction project for a combined 48.8pc. Sempra retains a 50.2pc stake.
