Partners at Ghana’s offshore Jubilee oil field are aiming to lift output to full capacity of 120,000 b/d with new wells by 2013, two years behind schedule. Jubilee’s gross production peaked at 80,000 b/d in 2011 but averaged just 66,000 b/d for the whole year because of well completion issues. Full-year 2012 production is expected to be 70,000- 90,000 b/d, Jubilee’s operator UK-listed Tullow Oil says. Ghana’s national budget for this year is based on full-year production of 90,000 b/d. Jubilee partner US independent Anadarko puts the delay down to “growing pains of the first development in a new basin”.
