Ecopetrol output falls in second quarter

Colombia’s state-controlled Ecopetrol produced less oil and natural gas in the second quarter because of lower investment and temporary field shut-ins. Production of 695,000 b/d of oil equivalent (boe/d) was down by 10pc from the second quarter of 2015. Ecopetrol produced 716,000 boe/d in the first six months of 2016, down by 7pc from 771,000 boe/d a year earlier. Refined product exports increased by 150pc on the year in the second quarter, to 152,800 b/d.
