Prices lower as storage cushion grows

Crude prices edged lower, but product margins strength- ened in northwest Europe and the US Gulf coast. Atlantic basin benchmark North Sea Dated shed $1.04/ bl to $46.49/bl in the week to 22 January, while Mideast Gulf marker Dubai fell by $1.12/bl to $43.67/bl. US bench- mark February WTI fell by 29￠/bl to $46.49/bl, after the contract dipped sharply at the end of the week, giving away earlier gains.
