Russia’s state-controlled Gazprom liquids arm Gazpromneft plans to sell all the ESPO Blend crude that it supplies to China in yuan rather than in US dollars. The firm last year sold 5.4mn bl of ESPO Blend through the far east Kozmino terminal to China in yuan, switching sales to the Chinese currency when the US and the EU imposed sanctions on Russian companies (WPA, 21 March 2014, p3).
