Russian president Vladimir Putin will visit China on 5-6 June, according to state-controlled gas producer Gazprom's chief executive, Alexei Miller, who will accompany Putin on the trip. Gazprom plans to discuss gas exports during the trip. The company has been talking to China's state-owned CNPC about exports since 2005, making scant progress. Gazprom is unhappy with the price that CNPC is offering. Gazprom's export director Alexander Medvedev met CNPC vicepresident Wang Yilin on 28 May, when they discussed possible pipeline and LNG exports to China as well as construction of storage facilities in China.
