Woodside halts further Pluto drilling

Australian independent Woodside has called a halt to further drilling near its Pluto field in the Carnarvon basin off- shore Western Australia because of dis- appointing exploration results. The firm will now have to acquire gas from third parties if it is to build a second train at Pluto, which opened in April with a 4.3mn t/yr train. Woodside is in discus- sions with other producers regarding the potential for expansion at Pluto and expects talks to continue in 2013.
