EU agrees ‘in principle’ Russia sanctions extension

EU leaders are expected to renew sanctions against Russia over the Ukraine crisis for a further six months when they meet on 28-29 June. There is agreement in principle on extending the sanctions, which have been in place since July 2014, but no date for a decision has been set yet. EU foreign ministers are due to meet in Brussels on 20 June.
