摘要

An Israeli supreme court ruling earlier this week has provided a “major breakthrough” for companies seeking to export natural gas from the eastern Mediterranean Sea, including a possible joint LNG development that would ship gas from Israel and Cyprus. The Israeli high court this week upheld a government plan to allow as much as 40pc of the country’s gas reserves to be available for export without securing approval from the Knesset, the country’s parliament. “The big roadblock we were facing on export policy was resolved for us,” US independent Noble Energy chief executive Chuck Davidson says. Noble is seeking to develop the 18 trillion ft3 (510bn m3) Leviathan field alongside Israeli firms Delek and Ratio Oil Exploration and Australian independent Woodside Petroleum.
