IMF warns on slower Mena growth

The IMF expects growth in the econo- mies of oil exporting countries in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) to fall to an average of 3.2pc in 2013 from 5.7pc last year, mainly because of lower demand for Opec oil. It projects that Saudi Arabia’s growth will slow to 4.4pc this year from 6.8pc last year and to 4.2pc in 2014. Kuwait’s GDP growt will slow to 1.1pc this year from 5.1pc in 2012, strengthening slightly to 3.1pc in 2014. UAE growth is likely to fall to 3.1pc this year from 3.9pc in 2012, strengthening to 3.6pc in 2014.
