Tanker hijacking raises concerns

A Vietnamese tanker hijacking this month is adding to southeast Asia’s reputation as a piracy centre. The Vietnam- flagged oil product tanker Sunrise 689 went missing on 2 October near the Singapore strait, only to be found a week later after being hijacked by pirates that stole its gasoil cargo and destroying its communications equipment.
