Rosneft progresses LNG export plant

Russia’s Rosneft says it is pressing forward with a project with ExxonMobil to build a 5mn t/yr LNG plant on Sakhalin island in Russia’s far east, and that the firms will draw up an initial engineering and feasibility study in 2013-14. The firm will also choose technology by 2015 to liquefy gas, and is considering the exact location of the plant on Sakhalin.
