Yemen qualifies exploration bidders

Yemen has qualified 18 foreign oil companies to bid for 20 onshore and offshore exploration blocks. The companies include Total, Kuwaiti stateowned oil firm KPC’s overseas exploration arm Kufpec, Austria’s OMV, Russian oil firm Bashneft, as well as independents from around the world. Of the 20 blocks, 15 were offered in March and five in April.
