Myanmar (Burma) is reforming its foreign investment laws, but uncertainy over the country's prospectivity, sta- bility and investor appeal remains a concern for oil firms. Myanmar's offshore potential has attracted the interest of majors, which are considering participating in a licensing round that could be held by the middle of this year. The off- shore is seen as a bigger prize than the country's more developed onshore, which has attracted mainly smaller for- eign firms through the two licensing rounds that have been held since Myanmar began political reforms in late 2010.
