Kazakhstan’s Kashagan start-up delayed

Crude production at Kazakhstan’s off- shore Kashagan field looks likely to begin in the spring of 2013 at the earli- est, rather than at the end of this year. The administration of western Kazakhstan’s Atyrau region revealed the delay after a meeting between regional governor Baktykozha Izmukhambetov and the managing director of Italian company Eni’s Agip KCO subsidiary, Umberto Carrara. Agip KCO is the oper- ator of the first phase of the Kashagan field development, taking the project through to the start of production.
