Kazakh state-controlled Kazmunaigaz (KMG) will sell its share of crude from the Caspian offshore Kashagan field to trading firm Vitol. Production from the field will finally restart on 23 October, the government says. Vitol won a tender to buy $1bn of Kashagan crude from KMG, with payment in advance. The start of the prepayment contract will coincide with the resumption of production.
