The prospect of an output agreement being reached at a meeting of oil producers in Algiers, Algeria, later this month looks increasingly remote. There will be no formal deal at the gathering of Opec and non-Opec produc- ers, a Mideast Gulf offcial close to Saudi Arabia tells Argus. The meeting, to be held on the sidelines of the International Energy Forum on 26-28 September, will be informal, so will not result in any formal decisions, he says.
