Nord Stream 2 partners consider options

Russian state-controlled Gazprom is trying to keep the 55bn m3/yr Nord Stream 2 project on track, despite Poland refusing to approve a joint venture to build and operate the gas pipeline. The Polish competition authority has refused to approve the creation of the joint venture. Under Polish law, planned joint ventures whose shareholders have business in Poland-in this case French energy firm Engie and Shell-require approval from the Polish regulator.
