US independent ConocoPhillips confirmed that it has exited its shale gas developments in China, terminating partnerships with Chinese state-controlled Sinopec and PetroChina. The independent in 2012 entered a jointstudy agreement with Sinopec for the Qijiang shale gas block in the Sichuan basin.
