India is looking to its near neighbours to help bolster its flagging gas supplies, as its domestic upstream prospects continue to disappoint. The first visit to Myanmar (Burma) by an Indian prime minister in 25 years this week was partly about welcoming the former pariah nation back into the international fold, but predominantly about bolstering trade and investment ties. India's Manmohan Singh signed 12 bilateral deals on 28 May, as Delhi eyes harnessing its neighbour's natural resources riches to sustain a growing Indian economy.
