Ghana aims to increase offshore crude production at its Jubilee field and new upstream developments,including the Tweneboa-Enyenra-Ntomme(Ten)and Sankofa oil projects. The Jubilee field is expected to pro-duce 105,000-110,000 b/d of crude this year,up from 93,000 b/d in the fourth quarter of 2013,state-owned GNPC says.Jubilee production is 109,000 b/d now,still below targeted capacity of more than 120,000 b/d. Additional gains in Jubilee output will be dependent on resolving how to deal with gas produced at the field. Delays in the construction of an onshore power plant that would handle Jubilee’s associated gas production have forced field operator UK firm Tullow Oil to reinject gas into wells,limiting crude production.Ghana aims to complete a plant that can handle gas produced at the field by the end of this year.
