Rosneft-CNPC venture to focus on gas

Russian state-controlled oil producer Rosneft and Chinese state-owned CNPC will expand their upstream partnership in east Siberia, which focuses on gas. The firms have signed an initial deal to develop several large-scale oil and gas fields in east Siberia and Russia’s far east, setting up a joint venture in which Rosneft will take 51pc and CNPC 49pc.
