Gazprom warns on LNG costs

Russian state-controlled gas firm Gazprom used this week’s CIS Oil and Gas Transportation conference in Istanbul to highlight the prohibitively high costs of a raft of proposed Russian LNG projects. “None of Russia’s LNG projects is economically viable under the current tax regime,” the offshore director of Gazprom research institute VNIIGAZ, Marat Mansurov told the conference on 30 October. VNIIGAZ calculates the cost of Gazprom projects.
