Shell accelerates downstream disposals

Shell has lined up more downstream asset sales to help meet its $30bn divestment target in 2016-18. The company has agreed to sell its Australian aviation fuels business and its 20pc stake in African retail fuel joint venture Vivo Energy to trading firm Vitol for a total of $500mn. And it is in advanced talks with Vitol subsidiary Varo Energy about the sale of its 37.5pc stake in the 208,000 b/d Schwedt refinery in Germany.
